Kentucky's assessment and accountability systems provide information about how districts, schools, and the state are meeting the needs of Kentucky's diverse student population.
Hopkins County Schools has released its results from the 2023-2024 Kentucky Summative Assessment (KSA) and accountability ratings, showcasing a variety of achievements across elementary, middle, and high schools. These results reflect our district's commitment to academic growth, school climate improvement, and preparing students for future success.
The Kentucky Department of Education uses the KSA to assess student performance and categorize schools based on their overall scores, leading to classifications in federal categories and other indicators such as reading and mathematics performance, postsecondary readiness, and graduation rates.
Here is a summary of key results from our schools:
A significant achievement for Hopkins County Schools this year is that no schools were identified as needing Targeted Support and Improvement (TSI), Additional Targeted Support and Improvement (ATSI), or Comprehensive Support and Improvement (CSI). Last year, two schools were identified as TSI. This accomplishment reflects the district’s focused efforts on supporting our most at-risk and underrepresented student populations. By directing resources and providing targeted support to these groups, we have made strides in closing achievement gaps and ensuring equitable educational opportunities for all students. This success highlights the district's ongoing commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive learning environment.
Statement from Superintendent Amy Smith: "Our schools continue to demonstrate resilience and commitment to improving student outcomes across all levels. The 2023-2024 results provide us with valuable insight into where we excel and where we need to focus our efforts. With these results, we will continue to support our students, teachers, and staff in their pursuit of excellence and ensure that every student in Hopkins County is on the path to success to be Future Ready."
