About Us

Hopkins County Schools serves more than 6,200 students in kindergarten through 12th grade. The district has six elementary schools, three middle schools, one P-8 school, two high schools, a career and technology center, and two nontraditional programs. We also offer a blended KERA preschool/Head Start program.

  • We offer a wide range of extracurricular activities including sports, the arts, band, and clubs that promote leadership.
  • HCS offers high-quality early childhood education to 3- and 4-year-old children. Qualifying children may attend free based on income or disability, and all children can attend via affordable monthly tuition. Our nine preschool classrooms are Kentucky All Star 5-Star Rated.
  • District cafeterias served an average of 2,197 breakfasts and 4,105 lunches daily during 2023-2024. All students can eat free through the CEP program.
