Amy Smith became Superintendent of Hopkins County Schools in July 2021. She previously served as Assistant Superintendent, principal of West Broadway Elementary School, district teacher consultant, curriculum consultant at Earlington Elementary, and an elementary school teacher.
She earned her bachelor’s degree in elementary education from Western Kentucky University, fifth-year endorsement in elementary education at Murray State University, master’s degree in K-12 teacher leader and education specialist in instructional leadership, K-12 principal, from University of the Cumberlands, and school superintendent endorsement from MSU.
Projects she has embraced during her tenure include the Remember Your Why Award, the Strategic Plan initiative started in 2023, and Hopkins County Future Ready Graduate.
